TV Display Setup Guide

Set up a TV or monitor to show your live waitlist and reservations

Overview

Ozync TV Display lets you show a live view of your waitlist, reservations, and table status on any TV or monitor. Guests can see their position in the queue in real time. Setup takes about 15 minutes and no technical skills are needed.

What You Need

  • 1

    A TV or monitor

Any screen with an HDMI input works

  • 2

    Amazon Signage Stick (recommended)

Built for always-on displays: it starts your signage automatically on boot and recovers after power outages. Other streaming sticks or smart TVs with a browser also work — see the alternative method below.

  • 3

    Wi-Fi connection

The display needs internet access to stay in sync

  • 4

Your Ozync app (iPad or iPhone)

Used to authorize and link the display to your business

1

Set Up the Amazon Signage Stick

Amazon Signage Stick and the Amazon Signage mobile app

If this is a brand new Signage Stick, complete Amazon's setup first:

  1. Plug the Signage Stick into your TV's HDMI port and connect it to power
  2. Switch your TV to the correct HDMI input
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to connect to Wi-Fi and sign in with an Amazon account

Why the Signage Stick? Unlike a regular Fire TV Stick, it boots straight into your signage app in full-screen kiosk mode — no home screen, no remote needed after setup, and it recovers on its own after a power outage. It is the device we recommend for the operational stability and performance an always-on display needs.

Link the Display to Your Business

When Ozync Waitlist starts, it shows a 6-digit code on the screen. Enter this code in the Ozync app to link the display to your business:

  1. Open the Ozync app on your phone or tablet (free on the App Store and Google Play)
  2. Go to SettingsTV Displays
  3. Tap "Add Display"
  4. Enter the 6-digit code shown on the TV
  5. The display connects and starts showing your live waitlist

Done! The display stays linked from now on — after a reboot or power outage it reconnects by itself. The code expires after 10 minutes — if it expires, press select (OK) on the remote to get a new one.

What the Display Shows

Live Waitlist

Shows guest names, party sizes, and position in the queue

Upcoming Reservations

Shows today's reservations with times and party sizes

Table Status

Color-coded table cards showing availability (if enabled)

QR Code

Guests can scan to join the waitlist or make a reservation directly from the display

Alternative: Other Streaming Sticks & Smart TVs

Don't have a Signage Stick? Any device that can show a webpage in full screen works — a Fire TV Stick, Chromecast with Google TV, or a smart TV with a built-in browser.

  1. On a Fire TV Stick or Fire TV: install the free Ozync Waitlist app from the Amazon Appstore, open it, and follow "Link the Display to Your Business" above — the same 6-digit code flow applies
  2. On a smart TV or other device with a browser: open this address in full screen and follow the same linking steps:
    https://ozync.com/display

Note: Unlike the Amazon Signage Stick, other devices don't start signage automatically after a restart or power outage — you'll need to reopen the app manually (your display stays linked, so it resumes right where it left off). For a truly hands-off, always-on display, we recommend the Amazon Signage Stick.

Troubleshooting

The display shows "Display not found"

The display may have been removed from your account. Go to Settings → TV Displays in the Ozync app and re-add it with the code shown on the TV.

The code expired before I could enter it

Codes expire after 10 minutes. Press select (OK) on the remote to get a new code, then enter it in the app.

The display is not updating

Check that the Stick is connected to Wi-Fi. The display re-syncs automatically when the connection returns. If the issue persists, unplug the Stick from power for 10 seconds and plug it back in — it will reconnect on its own.

The TV asks for a new code after a reboot

This shouldn't normally happen — a linked display reconnects automatically. If it does, the display was likely removed in the app; just enter the new code to re-link it.

Can I use a different device instead of the Amazon Signage Stick?

Yes — see the alternative method above. Any device with a full-screen web browser can show ozync.com/display.
