Digital Waivers

Collect signatures before service — at the kiosk and online

Overview

Guests sign your waiver on the screen with a finger, and a signed copy is emailed to you and stored with their visit. No paper, no clipboard, no filing.

You can require a waiver from everyone, or only from guests booking specific services — so a threading client isn't asked to sign a waxing waiver.

1

Turn Waivers On

Settings → Waivers → Enable Waivers

Waivers are off until you turn them on. Nothing changes for your guests until you do.

2

Write Your Waiver

In the same Waivers screen, tap + to add a waiver. Each one has:

  • Name — what the guest sees at the top, e.g. "Waxing Service Agreement"
  • Waiver text — your terms. Use {{guestName}} and {{date}} anywhere and they fill in automatically when the guest signs.
  • Notification email — where signed copies are sent. Each waiver can use a different address.
  • Questions (optional) — extra questions shown above the signature, like "any allergies we should know about?" or a yes/no photo consent.
  • Active — turn a waiver off without deleting it. Guests stop being asked; signatures you already have stay in your records.

Keep it to one waiver if you can. With two active waivers, guests are asked to sign both, one after another — and many stop after the first.

Choose Who Has to Sign

If you don't use services

Everyone signs. Nothing else to set up.

If you do use services

Waivers are linked to service categories, so only the relevant guests are asked:

Settings → Services → Categories → tap a category → Required Waiver

Link your waiver to Waxing and Tinting, leave Threading unlinked, and only waxing and tinting clients are asked to sign.

Guests who pick no service are asked to sign. If someone skips the service question, we can't tell what they're in for — so they get the waiver rather than slipping past it. A guest who picks only unlinked services still isn't asked.

When Guests Sign

At the kiosk

The waiver appears after they fill in the form and before they're added to the list. Someone who walks away without signing was never added.

Online (your website, QR, or NFC)

Same thing — the waiver comes after the form and before the booking is made. No signature means no spot in line and no appointment, so you never have to chase one down later.

In person, from your app

Open any guest from your waitlist or appointments and tap Sign Waiver to collect a signature at the chair — useful for someone who booked before you turned waivers on.

Guests who have already signed aren't asked twice. We match by phone number, so a regular signs once and never again.

Collecting Signatures In Person Only

Some salons would rather not put a legal form in front of someone who's just trying to book. If that's you:

Settings → Online Booking → Skip Waiver Online

Online guests book without signing; the kiosk still asks. You then collect the signature when they arrive, either at the kiosk or from the guest's detail screen in your app. This row only appears when waivers are enabled.

Finding Signed Waivers

Every signature is emailed to your notification address as a PDF the moment it's signed, and is also stored on the guest's visit — open the guest from your waitlist or appointments to see what they signed and when.

Signed copies are kept as a record of what the guest actually agreed to. Editing or deleting a waiver later never changes a signature already collected.

Troubleshooting

Guests aren't being asked to sign

Check three things: waivers are enabled, the waiver is marked Active, and — if you use services — that your service categories are linked to it under Settings → Services → Categories. An unlinked category asks nobody.

Online guests aren't asked, but kiosk guests are

That's Skip Waiver Online under Settings → Online Booking. Turn it off if you want online guests to sign too.

A guest is asked to sign twice

You likely have two active waivers. Open Settings → Waivers and switch the one you no longer use to inactive, or delete it — signatures already collected are kept either way.

Can I delete a waiver I no longer use?

Yes — tap the trash icon on the waiver row. Signed copies stay in your records, and any service category linked to it is unlinked automatically. If you might use it again, switch it to inactive instead.

Is a finger signature legally valid?

Electronic signatures are widely accepted in the US, and each record stores the guest's name, the exact wording they agreed to, their signature, and a timestamp. We're not lawyers, so have your own waiver text reviewed if it matters to your business.
