Why asking by text works
Google reviews come from two things: the client had a good visit, and they were asked at a moment when writing one takes less than a minute. A sign at the counter fails the second test. A text that evening, with a link that opens the review box directly, passes it. Salons that switch this on typically see reviews arrive every week instead of every few months.
Ozync only asks once per client. A regular who did not review after her first visit is not asked again on her tenth, so your number never becomes the salon that spams.
How it works
- 1Link your Google Business Profile on the Google page in Ozync. That gives Ozync your review link.
- 2Switch on Google review request on the Marketing page.
- 3A client checks in at the kiosk or arrives for an appointment, gets served, and is marked served on the waitlist.
- 4A few hours later they get one text: a thank-you from your salon and the review link. Tapping it opens Google's review box for your listing.
- 5Ozync records that they were asked and never asks that client again.
What Google allows
- Asking every client for a review is fine. Google's rules forbid offering money or discounts for reviews and forbid asking only the happy ones. Ozync asks everyone, with no incentive, which keeps your listing safe.
- Reviews must be the client's own words. Ozync never pre-writes or posts anything; the text only carries the link.
- Replies to reviews matter for ranking too. The Google page in Ozync links straight to your listing so you can answer new reviews in a tap.
Walk-ins too
Booking apps that offer review requests usually tie them to an appointment. Ozync ties them to a visit. A walk-in who checked in on the kiosk and was marked served gets the same request as a client who booked online. For a walk-in salon, that is most of your clients.
The other two messages in the add-on
The review request is one of three recipes in the Marketing add-on. The second is a rebooking reminder by text when a client is overdue. The third is a win-back offer by email when a regular has drifted. Each has its own switch, so you can run the review request on its own.
