How QR code check-in works
- 1Open QR & Tap in Ozync. It shows your salon's one client link, as a QR code, and decides what the link opens: the walk-in join form or the booking page.
- 2Print the sign, or copy the link onto anything you like: a window decal, a table tent, your Instagram bio.
- 3A client points their phone camera at the code. The join form opens in their browser; nothing to install.
- 4They type their name and phone, pick a service or stylist if you ask for one, and tap Join.
- 5They're on the same waitlist as kiosk and walk-in clients, marked as a QR join, and they get a link to watch their place in line. When you tap Notify, they get the text.
Why salons use it
- The line forms before the door opens. Clients scan the window sign from the parking lot and are on the list by the time you unlock.
- Nobody has to touch a shared screen. A client who would rather not use the kiosk uses their own phone.
- They can wait anywhere. The status link shows how many are ahead, and the text brings them back when it's their turn, so the waiting room stays calm.
- It works without a receptionist, without a tablet, and without an app on the client's phone.
Tap to join: the NFC sign
The same link goes on an NFC tag. A client holds their phone near the sign, a notification pops up, and the join form opens. It is faster than a QR code for regulars and works with any modern iPhone or Android phone.
Ozync prints a sign with both: a QR code in the middle and a tap spot for the tag. Program the tag from the app in a few seconds; the setup guide shows how. Stick the tag behind the sign and it is invisible.
Print a sign that matches your shop
QR & Tap prints a counter sign straight from the page: QR only, NFC only, or both, in one of four themes with your salon name and a short instruction. It comes out as US Letter, or save it as a PDF to send to a print shop for a window decal or an A-frame.
The same code on the kiosk and the TV
The check-in kiosk can show your QR code in the corner, so a client who walks up to a busy tablet can scan and join from their phone instead. The TV waitlist display can show it too, with "Scan to join" under the queue, so the whole waiting room can see how to get in line.
Clients who book online or follow your website's Book button land on the same booking page the QR code opens when you set it to appointments.
One list, whoever joined how
Kiosk, QR, NFC, the AI receptionist, and the walk-ins you add yourself all land on one list in order, each marked by where it came from. Reports show how many clients joined by QR, so you know whether the sign on the window is working.
Pricing
QR and NFC check-in are part of Ozync. Free for your first 100 clients, then $15 a month billed annually or $20 month to month. Printed signs cost you a sheet of paper; NFC tags are a few dollars from any supplier, or ask us for a finished sign.
