Where they differ
theCut's plans and features change; check thecut.co for the current details. Checked 31 October 2026. The structural difference is who the software is for: theCut is the barber's booking app and marketplace, priced per barber with discovery fees; Ozync is the shop's front desk, priced flat for the whole shop.

What Ozync does that theCut doesn't
- A check-in kiosk on an iPad or Android tablet; walk-ins sign themselves in and pick a barber, no app and no account.
- A live per-barber queue on the waiting-room TV, and a text or WhatsApp when it's their turn.
- Waivers for the services that need them, signed on the kiosk and kept on the client record.
- A website with ten templates on your own domain, with booking, gift cards and a chat built in.
- Your choice of processor: Stripe, or the Square or Clover you already have.
- One flat price for the whole shop, and no fee when a new client walks in.
What theCut does that Ozync doesn't
theCut is a marketplace with its own search, reviews and a large base of clients looking for a barber, and it is the barber's own app: a solo barber can take it from shop to shop. It also tracks booth rent and lists vacant booths for owners. If your barbers are independent and live on theCut discovery, keep it; Ozync runs the room alongside it, and many shops run both until the bookings have moved. Ozync does not run a consumer marketplace and does not collect booth rent.
Moving over
- 1Create your business in Ozync and add your services, staff and hours, about ten minutes. Import your client list from a CSV export.
- 2Put the kiosk on a tablet at the door and the TV display on the wall; walk-ins are handled from day one.
- 3Publish your Ozync website and point your Instagram and Google Business Profile booking link at it.
- 4Keep your old account live until the bookings have moved; nothing in Ozync depends on cancelling it.
